Park in Cathedral road or North road car park and ask for directions to Blackweir
Swimming notes (summer)
The river here combines a deep slow flowing pool above the weir with a paddling area below
Site closed due to construction of new fish ladder. estimated completion date October 2008
Safety notes
The Taff is the steepest mainland major river in the southern UK and is very prone to flash flooding ( level rises of 1M/hour are not unheard of) Do not swim immediately after heavy rain within the Taff Basin
The Fish Ladder in the centre of the weir should not be played on, it is possible to get stuck within the structure.
