Public Transport
Train to Radyr Station on the valleys network, cross the river Taff footbridge and walk upstream along the Taff Trail  500M. at the weir you can get in either below from the gravel beach or above approx 200M upstream at the canoe launch.
By Car
M4 J32 exit for ASDA and petrol station at small roundabout go straight on and continue until a lay by opposite the entrance to AB automotive electronics, Park here and walk over flood bank, canoe launch is directly in front of you.
Swimming conditions (summer)
The Taff here is a clean and gentle flowing river, directly above the weir it is 300mm deep however it gets progressively deeper upstream to approx 3M deep,
Safety note
The Taff is the steepest mainland major river in the southern UK  and is very prone to flash flooding ( level rises of 1M/hour are not unheard of) Do not swim immediately after heavy rain within the Taff Basin
